We recently purchased a 2 bedroom house in Stevenage and decided to create a 3rd bedroom but we needed the chimney removing in order to create enough space. They removed the chimney from on top of the roof down through the loft and bedroom below. They patched in the roof with breathable felt, battens and tiles. They then put up studwork and created 2 new door openings. Added in some sockets and switches etc... whole process took about a week. Really impressed with these guys. All of that for just under 5k. Its added way more than that to the value of our home though

We had two supporting walls removed in May 23 by the structural wall removal specialist builders. They put us in touch with a chartered structural engineer who provided the calculations for the rsj's. Once the steel beams were in place they called building control round to sign it all off. Very impressed, very tidy and very fast turnaround. 5 stars from me and highly recommended

These guys did a great job at removing a load bearing wall in our house. The wall was supporting a wall above and the joists were also resting on the wall. They offered 2 separate prices. One for having the beam below the joists and a slightly more expensive option of having the bean hidden within the ceiling void. We opted to have it hidden within the ceiling void and I can see just how much more work that involved now. Its a dusty job but these guys are very tidy and do whatever is necessary to minimise on dust.

Sometimes known as load bearing wall removal, supporting wall removal or structural wall removal.

Removing a supporting wall may seem like a daunting challenge but in fact is relatively easy to do and we should know as we’ve removed a lot of them. To remove a supporting wall, you would need to support the joist above or the wall above. This varies from job to job depending on your house construction and layout.
Once its safely propped up you can then remove the wall then fit a steel beam (RSJ) to support the floor or wall above. These beams will be calculated by a structural engineer and the work will be signed off by building control. We can over see all of this for you or alternatively you can appoint your own engineer and apply for a building notice  yourself. We can also remove chimney breasts, cut new openings for doors & windows or alternatively block them up. Whatever alteration you need be it internal or external please give us a call.
